Upright Piano, Circa 1880 - 1900. Today's Value: $200 - $600 in poor condition, $800 - $3,000 in average to good condition, $9,000 - $13,000 totally restored to factory new condition.
~This piano is in average to good condition~
The ivory keys are in very good condition for its age and none of them have chips. The ebony keys are in great shape as well, but do have a few small chips in approximately 4 - 5 of them. They are not faded or sun bleached and only show a very small discoloration due to it’s age. This can easily be cleaned and add tremendous value to this already antique. No keys stick.
The Haines Brothers pianos carry a very good appreciation basically because of how well they were made and because of the seasoned wood used. This piano is a walnut stain with a mahogany lamination. The inside of the piano action is in good condition and the hinge of the upper lid has a very nice shine to it. It does have the inner “C” scrolled curve above the front legs, although the face and other features do not match Style Seven (but Style Seven is the only style that has the inner “C” scrolled curve feature).
All the hammers go right back into position. The whole pin board is cover with cast iron. It plays beautifully. It holds a strong steady pitch and does not sound tinny or have a honky-tonk sound to it. The sound board is also not crack.
There are a few scratches and there is a missing piece of laminate approximately 6 inches by 6 inches on the one side of the piano (please see picture) Please see pictures for any aesthetic blemishes. There are very few & are not major at all. A small investment could make this an invaluable antique. This piece lights up any room and sounds even more amazing then it looks.
