I am a clinical psychologist with 30 years experience practicing marital counseling and individual psychotherapy. I specialize in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. I also specialize in working with people of faith.

I have an APA-approved doctorate in clinical psychology with four years of post-doctoral training in psychoanalysis. I also have a graduate degree in theology. I am licensed as a psychologist in California (PSY14007) and as a Marriage, Family, Child Counselor (MFC14374). I am endorsed as a pastoral counselor by the American Baptist Churches, USA.

Many people find relief from distress and emotional healing in pursuing a course of psychotherapy. I have found that I work well with those who suffer from anxiety and fears, depression and other mood disorders, relational and marital difficulties, adjustment disorders, personality disorders, and those who become mired in repetitive patterns of destructive behaviors.

I have pursued advanced training in psychoanalytic therapy which enables me to sensitively listen to my patients and understand their most profound communications. I am also able to understand and respectfully respond to the concerns of religious patients who have difficulties that may be associated with their beliefs.

Finally, I am trained in the science of personality assessment. This may involve diagnostic interviews, intellingece tests, and/or personality inventories (both objective and projective tests). Such an assessment can provide you with a comprehensive understanding of personal capacities and psychodynamics.
